Artist’s statement:

I create because it’s how I remember who I am. Art has always been my quiet rebellion, my sanctuary, my soul’s most honest language. My work is driven by a longing to reconnect with the sacred—within nature and within ourselves. I paint to uncover hidden places, emotional imprints, and the quiet whispers that live in silence and shadow. My process is an alchemical blend of abstraction and realism, using mixed media to layer energy and depth. In the background, abstract textures hold movement, light, and Reiki-infused intention. In the foreground, realistic elements emerge—close-ups of leaves, roots, reflections—offering an intimate portal into a multidimensional emotional experience.

At the heart of my work lives the archetype of the Creator, the Innocent, and the Caregiver. I am the dreamer who still believes in beauty, the mystic who sees magic in trees, the caregiver who channels love through every brushstroke. My paintings are not just images—they are invitations: to feel deeply, to remember joy, to return to the utopia of your own heart.

Through my art, I hope to open windows—into forgotten wonder, into emotional healing, and into the unseen dimensions where soul and nature dance together.

About Diana

Born in the vibrant city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Diana’s artistic spirit emerged early. Though her dream of becoming a professional artist was eclipsed by family responsibilities and cultural expectations, art never left her, it simply moved quietly into the margins of her life; however she nurtured her creativity in the background, participating in artistic projects whenever life allowed . Some of the past fine art exhibits participation are :OPAL Gallery in Orlando Florida, The Thomas Center , GFAA gallery, Trinity Church exhibit, and in the Gator Trail project auction to benefit the community Gainesville.

Diana has lived in Gainesville Florida for the last 3 decades. A re-evaluation of her beliefs and a deep recognition of the social conditioning that had long silenced her inner voice sparked a personal and artistic rebirth. From a small, dusty corner in a storage room, she built a fully functioning home studio surrounded by majestic southern oaks and enrolled in Milan Art Institute just before her 60th birthday. From here her artistic career took flight.
